Sliding Scale

Quiet Rise Counseling offers a sliding scale for clients who may not be in a position to pay the full session rate. We recognize that financial circumstances can shift, and access to mental health care should not depend on a single moment in time. The sliding scale is designed to keep therapy accessible while honoring the value of the work we do together.

You do not need to provide documentation or “prove” financial hardship to qualify. If you need reduced fees, we simply talk through what is manageable for you at this time. Your rate can also be revisited later if your circumstances change—whether that means adjusting downward or returning to the standard rate when you feel ready.

Clients are welcome to use HSA/FSA funds for sessions. If you would like to request a sliding scale rate, you can mention it during your consultation or in an email before beginning services. This process is intended to be simple, respectful, and judgment-free.

Above all, the purpose of the sliding scale is to support continuity of care—so you can remain engaged in therapy without added financial stress.

Insurance

Quiet Rise Counseling is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. This allows us to offer care that is private, flexible, and guided by your needs, not insurance company limitations. We understand finances can be a barrier, so a sliding scale is available for clients who need a reduced rate (Read More Below). We understand that insurance can make receiving treatment easier, but here are some reasons why we currently don’t bill insurance directly:

  • Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis to cover sessions, even when one may not be clinically appropriate.

  • Insurance can restrict how often, how long, and how many sessions you can have.

  • Time spent navigating insurance paperwork takes away from time spent providing quality care.

Many clients still use their benefits by requesting reimbursement through out-of-network coverage. If you plan to submit claims, we can provide a monthly Superbill for you to file with your insurance. HSA/FSA cards are also accepted and may count toward your deductible.

If you’d like guidance on how to submit out-of-network claims, just let us know and we’re happy to help.

Payments & Fees

Our therapist’s session fees are $120 per clinical hour.

Payment of the full fee is due at the time of your therapy appointment, and the credit/HSA/FSA card on file will be charged unless you notify your therapist of another form of payment. Please contact us for more information and specific session fees for the therapist you would like to see.

As part of the No Surprises Act, we provide our clients with a Good Faith Estimate.

Above all else, the rapport you have with a healthcare provider, especially for mental health, is critical to the treatment. So please factor that, along with the payment options, into your decision-making process when choosing a therapist.
